Joined Woodford in 2013 as senior athlete. My training and competition plans were drawn up with my coach Terry McCarthy. Terry managed a very successful Woodford men’s endurance team for ten years. His knowledge and experience were a big influence on me as an athlete and now as a coach. I progressed from a 20+ min 5km (V35) runner to a sub16:30 5km and competed for Woodford at National and Regional levels on track, road and cross country. I was part of Woodford's gold winning team in Essex Country Cross Country Champs and Southend Half Marathon (V40) winner in 2017🥇 As a coach I draw on my experience as an athlete to help others achieve their goals. In endurance, I insist on sensible loading and volume planning to reduce injury risk and develop consistency which I consider vital to ensuring long term athlete development. I believe in multi-event training and technical coaching for juniors to build all round athleticism. I also manage WGEL junior track and field teams and many of the technical aspects of hurdling, sprinting and jumping are core to plans I design to help develop athletes and deliver their athletic goals.
